Notes for James LOWRY
1850 Cass Co, GA Census shows James born in GA, however Nancy Brown has
information passed down in her family and received by her from her great
aunt Polly that says he was born in Laurens Co, SC. Aunt Polly's
information has thus far proven close to 100% reliable.
The above family information says James was born in 1785. The Southern
Christian Advocate, however, reported in 1851 that James died "Aug. 1,
near Cassville, Ga ..... in [his] 62nd year...". This would put his birth
at about 1789.
